Comparison of outcomes of foreign-born and native-born New Yorkers.

This report provides a comparison of English-proficient native-born and foreign-born New Yorkers across several indicators of economic well-being. Individuals are categorized by educational attainment: high school diploma or less, some college and/or associate degree, and bachelor’s degree or above. The analysis examines income, unemployment, poverty, working poverty, full-time employment, homeownership, and rent burden. By evaluating outcomes among similarly educated residents, the report highlights disparities that may be connected to whether a person was born in the United States or abroad.
