Comparison of outcomes of foreign-born and native-born New Yorkers.

The following analysis highlights differences between native-born and foreign-born New Yorkers who are proficient in English. Results are segmented into three educational categories: high school diploma or below, some college and/or associate degree, and bachelor’s degree or above. Seven indicators are examined, including income, unemployment, poverty, working poverty, full-time work, homeownership, and housing affordability as measured by rent burden. These comparisons provide insight into disparities that may exist beyond educational achievement alone.
