Comparison of outcomes of foreign-born and native-born New Yorkers.

This analysis compares English-proficient native-born and foreign-born New Yorkers across key socioeconomic measures. Results are presented by three educational attainment groups: high school diploma or less, some college and/or an associate degree, and a bachelor’s degree or higher. The study examines seven indicators—income, unemployment, poverty, working poverty, full-time employment, homeownership, and rent burden. By highlighting differences between native-born and immigrant residents with similar educational backgrounds, the analysis provides insight into disparities associated with place of birth.
