New AP Data Tracks Where 4.5 Million Migrants Went After the Border

AP obtained federal records tracking the intended destinations of 4.5 million migrants released after border encounters from October 2018 through July 2025. The data reveal significant New York patterns: Queens recorded substantial arrivals from at least 25 nationalities, while Chinese migrants were particularly concentrated in Queens and Brooklyn.

AP Investigation Shows Immigration Reshaping Smaller American Communities
